Meet one of our Tourism Supporters: The Washington Association of NJ (WANJ). The WANJ was founded in 1874 in order to preserve the Ford Mansion which sheltered General George Washington and his Headquarters staff during the worst winter of the Revolutionary War (1779-1780). Today WANJ is the partner of the Morristown National Historical Park and works to ensure the legacy of General Washington and the Continental Army.

Nine local veterans were presented Morris County Distinguished Military Service Medals by the Morris County Board of County Commissioners at the county’s annual Memorial Day Observance outside the historic Morris County Courthouse in Morristown.
