Swingin’ Tern Contra Dances Evening Session Grand Picnic photo

Swingin’ Tern Contra Dancing Evening Session

Contra dancing led by Annie Kidwell, with live music by Grand Picnic.

Note: This event is one part of a double dance: the afternoon session features dances for experienced dancers, while the evening session is for all levels of dancers. As a result, there will be separate admission tickets for each half.

CALLER:
Annie Kidwell is an up-and-coming caller based in Boston, having called at BIDA and Greenfield. As a result, we are thrilled to debut Annie’s spirited calling in NJ where they will call the all-level evening dance.

BAND:
Grand Picnic
graced Swingin’ Tern’s stage in 1989 and has served up a musical feast of high-energy contras ever since. Additionally, this dance features the original lineup as shown in the boy band picture above: Michael Gorin on fiddle, Bill Peek on piano, Marco Brehm on bass, Sam Zygmuntowicz on fiddle, and Jody Kruskal on Anglo concertina.
