5Rhythms Movement Class
5Rhythms Movement Class
On Wednesday, August 16th at 7pm the Mendham Township Library with host a 5Rhythms Movement Class with local resident Sayrah Garrison.
Join local resident, Sayrah Garrison, as she leads a dynamic movement medication class known as 5Rhythms. The 5Rhythms of flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness help promote clear minds and grounded bodies. Join us for this unique wellness experience.
Created by Gabrielle Roth, the 5Rhythms® is a conscious dance practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself.
The 5Rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. These Rhythms are a movement map that, when practiced, allow us to get grounded in our bodies, express our hearts and clear our minds so that our true essence can come forth effortlessly. In essence it is a dynamic moving meditation that nourishes mind, body and spirit!
The only requirements for this class is an open mind and a willingness to move your body. You are also invited to leave your shoes off at the door. 5Rhythms is a barefoot practice but dance shoes are okay if needed.
Sayrah Garrison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is passionate about offering body based practices; specifically, yoga, mindfulness meditation and conscious dance to help promote physical and mental health wellness in the general public and for special populations in need. She is deeply committed to exploring how these profound body based practices can affect positive change in all of us and hopes that her offerings provide a fun way to explore creativity, connection and personal growth.
