‘Theatre of Light: Celestial Winter’ Will Transform Morristown into a Glowing Outdoor Spectacle

Downtown Morristown will shimmer with light, sound and immersive art when the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) presents Theatre of Light: Celestial Winter on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This free outdoor celebration invites guests to experience an evening where music, movement and visual art come together “under the stars.” The event transforms Morristown into a radiant winter wonderland.

As visitors arrive, they can explore a variety of live performances and interactive experiences. OKAMOTO Studio will carve glowing ice sculptures on site, while LED-winged dancers and life-sized puppets move through the crowd. A fire dancer will add dramatic contrast with a striking “fire and ice” display. Additionally, the MPAC Performing Arts Company will fill the street with vibrant vocal and theatrical performances. The Unity Steppers from Morristown Neighborhood House will bring rhythm, precision and community pride to the evening.

Meanwhile, DJ Lingo will keep the atmosphere upbeat with music that encourages families and friends to stroll, dance, watch and take photos. To make the night even more engaging, visitors can stop by MPAC’s Crown-Making Station and design their own illuminated crowns.

Theatre of Light: Celestial Winter brings local performers, regional artists and Morristown families together in one shared space. The event celebrates creativity, connection and the joy of welcoming winter as a community.
