Tavern Off The Green Transformed for New Netflix Series Filming

A popular Morristown bar was transformed last week for an upcoming Netflix limited series starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Filming for the series, an adaptation of the 2017 novel “Enigma Variations” by André Aciman, took place Friday at Tavern off the Green.

Michelle Moore, one of the bar’s owners, said the production team transformed the tavern into a college bar. The crew began setting up on Thursday, she said.

Moore said she was on site with the crew throughout the shoot and got a glimpse of the actors while they were rehearsing. She spotted stars, including Taylor-Johnson. According to Netflix, “Enigma Variations” will be reminiscent of Aciman’s 2007 novel “Call Me by Your Name,” which was adapted into an award-winning movie released in theaters in 2018.

The new series will also star Alicia Vikander, known for her roles in “The Danish Girl” and “Ex Machina,” as Claire, along with Riley Keough, Devon Terrell, Nicholas Podany and Carl Clemons-Hopkins.
