Morris County Farm to Celebrate the Season with More Fresh Produce from the Fields!

CHESTER, NJ (August 14, 2023) – Alstede Farms , a pioneer in sustainable agriculture with over 600 acres of preserved farmland in Morris County, New Jersey, today released its schedule for the month of August and early September. With the beautiful summer weather in full swing, there is an abundance of activities taking place at the farm. Events include Sunflower & Summer Harvest Festival, Farm to Table Apple Pancake Breakfast, pick your own fruit, Heart of the Harvest Community Supported Agriculture box of produce and so much more. The upcoming calendar of events at Alstede Farms includes:

Summer Veggies Season Kickoff, Ongoing

  • Check for details regarding the first crops of delicious eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes along with red raspberries available for picking in our fields. Learn how food is grown with a visit to our real working farm. It is recommended to verify picking availability before you visit our websites

Farm to Table Apple Breakfast, Sunday, September 3rd, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Indulge in a hearty farm-fresh apple pancake breakfast complete with our delicious homemade pancakes with homemade apple topping, scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, coffee, and drinks. You and your guests will be greeted with a scenic wagon ride around the farm which will bring you to Harvest Hall where breakfast will be served. Sunflowers and Summer Harvest Festival, Friday, August 25th , 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Celebrate summer by attending our Sunflower & Summer Harvest Festival! From 5 pm to dusk,journey through our sunflower trail, and enjoy live music, wine, and cider tasting by Tomasello Winery, all outdoors under the beautiful evening sky. Enjoying picking sunflowers, peaches, or other summer produce at sunset. Delicious food & tasty snacks will be available for purchase from The Farmhouse District. Treat yourself to homemade ice cream, featuring seasonal flavors such as peach, while soaking up the rural farm atmosphere at night.

Additionally, Alstede Farms is offering residents the opportunity to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and support local agriculture with its Community Supported Agriculture program. Participants can enjoy freshly picked and sustainably grown fruits and vegetables each week by choosing the share size and box type that works best for their unique needs. By choosing the most comprehensive and inclusive package, the Farmer’s Harvest Share, participating guests can open a box of fresh ideas weekly through November to ignite their cooking creativity. For the busy but innovative chef, the 4-week Holiday Harvest share provides fresh produce for guests to incorporate into their cooking throughout the bustling holiday season.
