Morristown Festival Of Books Presents Kidfest on October 10th

Many authors will also read and speak to audiences throughout the day, including Dan Gutman (My Weirdtastic School), Beth Ferry (Flyer McTire), Rachel Renée Russell & Nikki Russell (Dork Diaries), Jacky Davis & David Soman (Yes Elvis, No, Romeo), Erin Entrada Kelly (Fatal Glitch), Kayla Miller (Besties), Steve Sheinkin (Mind vs. Machine), and Kate Milford (Rialto). A special 40th Anniversary Celebration of The Baby-sitters Club will feature Emma Straub, Coe Booth, Peter Lerangis, and Shauna J. Grant.

New Jersey high school students will read their winning Teen Writing Contest entries during a special program from 3:00 to 4:00pm. The Teen Writing Contest is sponsored in memory of John and Marianne Gunzler, with additional support from Justice Stewart Pollock. The winners will be announced during the Festival’s Keynote Event on Friday evening.

KidFest has something for every young reader—from favorite picture books and chapter books to middle grade stories, book sales, crafts, face painting, balloon art, and giveaways. KidFest takes place on the lawn of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 121 South Street, in historic downtown Morristown, with select author talks at St. Peter’s Parish House, 70 Maple Avenue.
