Morristown Festival of Books Announces 2025 Keynote Event

Rick Atkinson Named 2025 Keynote Speaker

The Morristown Festival of Books (MFOB) is proud to welcome two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Atkinson as the 2025 Keynote Speaker. Atkinson will present his newest work, The Fate of the Day: The War for America, Fort Ticonderoga to Charleston, 1777–1780. The book debuted as the #1 New York Times nonfiction best seller and continues his acclaimed Revolution Trilogy.

Keynote Event Details

The Keynote Event will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown. During the evening, Atkinson will guide audiences through the dramatic middle years of the Revolutionary War. His new book shows how George Washington’s army survived against immense challenges, balancing constantly between collapse and victory.

As the United States nears its 250th anniversary, Atkinson’s deeply researched account feels especially timely. His narrative reminds readers of democracy’s demands and highlights the resilience required of its citizens.
