Whippany Burying Yard Civil War Walking Tour

Whippany Burying Yard Civil War Walking Tour

Morris County Historical Society is pleased to partner with local historians and history organizations to present a Morris County Walking Tour Series that celebrates the area’s rich and diverse past . From April through October, join us for nearly 40 guided walking tours that explore almost two dozen communities throughout Morris County, with topics ranging from unique historic districts, downtowns, and neighborhoods to local industries that shaped the landscape, and the individuals who left a lasting impact.

Join Hanover Township Landmark Commission & Hanover Heritage Association for a guided tour of Civil War veterans’ grave sites located in the Whippany Burying Yard. Established in 1718, the Whippany Burying Yard has long served the people of Morris County and is the final resting place of over a dozen Civil War veterans. Hear guides share interesting facets of our rich history and the deeds of those interred. Parking is available in the Casa de Montecristo Cigar Parking Lot, 301 NJ Route 10, East, Whippany, NJ.
