The Whippany Burying Yard was established in 1718 and predates the founding of the United States, the State of New Jersey, and the County of Morris.
- The WBY is the oldest colonial graveyard in Morris County.
- It is the site of the first school and church in Morris, Warren, and Sussex Counties
- It is the site of first militia training ground in that region
- Resting in the burying yard are first settlers, descendants of Charlemagne, ancestors of Presidents and others who fought in: the French and Indian, American Revolutionary and Civil Wars.
- Meet some who have awoken from their long slumber to speak their stories. Hear costumed guides share interesting facets of our rich history.
Join us to visit them, learn of them, and from them.
