Viewing Party Fundraiser: The Gleaners and I

Viewing Party Fundraiser: The Gleaners and I

Join us for a free screening of the celebrated French documentary The Gleaners and I in our vintage barn. The film explores the ancient practice of gleaning – gathering leftover crops or discarded goods. Today, Riamede works with gleaning organizations to share our excess produce with our neighbors. We want to share the importance of these organizations with our broader community.

The film runs for 82 minutes and is in French with English subtitles.

Following the film, Ashley Asdal, owner of Riamede Farm, will lead a conversation with Stacey Kennedy, Director of the NJ Agricultural Society, and Christine Parauda, Food Access Director of Foodshed Alliance, to discuss modern gleaning in NJ.

All donations collected will be shared by the NJ Agricultural Society (Farmers Against Hunger) and the Foodshed Alliance.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

We will have sourdough snacks generously provided by ASEBakes here in Chester. We’ll also have cheese and snack packs available for purchase. Feel free to BYOB or more substantive dinner.

Advance registration (free) required.
