This documentary film investigates the life of internationally acclaimed artist and pioneer in the Studio Glass Movement, Paul Stankard. For more than 60 years, Paul Stankard has been dedicated to interpreting nature in flameworked glass, pushing the boundaries of the centuries-old paperweight tradition to create a new kind of glass genre altogether. His work is exhibited in more than 70 museums throughout the world, and he is considered a living master of his art form. Paul was trained in scientific glass but sacrificed a promising career to pursue his passion. Since then, he has received two honorary doctorate degrees and many awards within the glass community. He is the author of four books and has been instrumental in the development of glassblowing programs and scholarship funds at Salem County Community College, Urban Arts (NYC) and Wheaton Arts (NJ).
