Makerspace at the METC
Join us for an exciting, hands-on experience at Makerspace at the METC on the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the METC Education Annex, located at 23 Main Street in Madison, NJ. Makerspace offers a vibrant range of engaging activities for young creators and families, making it the perfect destination for kids and adults seeking a creative outlet after a museum visit. Our collaborative workspace bursts with kid-friendly projects designed to inspire and delight children ages 5 to 12, sparking creativity in a supportive, hands-on setting.
Kids can explore cutting-edge technology using our 3D printer while budding engineers build imaginative structures with Legos. The space encourages kids to dive into various creative outlets—they can make jewelry, experiment with our marble run, and engage with coding robots, adding an educational twist to each activity. These hands-on projects help kids learn new skills in an environment that emphasizes creativity, learning, and teamwork.
We feature special dog-themed crafts and coloring activities tailored for young animal lovers in celebration of Rose City Dog Day. Kids can enjoy a memorable experience crafting dog-themed art and playing with engaging coloring pages. Make your visit even more special by capturing a photo at our “Best in Show” photo op on the museum lawn, an ideal activity for families who bring their furry friends along!
Families can attend the Makerspace experience for $10 per family, making it an affordable and enriching outing. Guardians must always accompany children, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone involved. Join us at Makerspace at the METC for a unique, hands-on experience to inspire young minds and create lasting family memories!
