Madison Mostly Dance Festival

(Madison, NJ) — The Madison Community Arts Center located at 10 Kings Road presents Madison Mostly Dance Festival, 11 days of dance in diverse ways and diverse genres from Friday, April 25, through Sunday, May 5. The programs feature dance and music in many formats from tap and swing to cultural and modern.

Collective Memories with Drew University Department of Dance under the direction of Professor Kimani Fowlin at 7:30 on Thursday and Friday, April 25-26 and Saturday, April 27, at 2;00.

Call Me Dancer presented by the Film Society of Summit, Saturday, April 27, at 7:30.
This award-winning documentary has become an audience favorite! Tickets are only $15.00.

Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey on Sunday, April 28, at 4:00
Take a musical interlude with Maestro Robert Butts for only $20!

Individuals with Disabilities from the Matheny School’s Arts Access Choreography Program on Monday, April 29, at 7:30
Join the smiles as dancers with disabilities take the stage! Students are only $5.00.

Tap Dancers Take the Lead with the Dan Levinson Quartet on Tuesday, April 30, at 7:30.
Jazz musician Dan Levinson leads an ensemble that features tap dancers taking the roles of soloists. Advance sale tickets are only $15.

Swing Dancing with Nissreen Almazouni and the Bottle Hill Swing Band on Wednesday, May 1, at 7:00
Beginning dancers can take instruction from noted dance teacher Nissreen Almazouni starting at 7:00 and then the Big Band starts playing at 7:30. Advance sale tickets are only $10!

Kalangangothri: An Evening of Indian Classical Dance on Thursday, May 2 at 7:30.
Almost two dozen beautiful dancers perform classical Indian Dance! Tickets are only $15 or less.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance Master Class with Senior Company Member Charles Scheland on Friday, May 3 at 10:00 AM
Join us for an open-level, adult master class which is free and open to all, regardless of experience or level of expertise. Registration is required.

The Thomas Edison Film Festival Presents Award-Winning Films with Dance on Friday, May 3, at 7:30.
The Thomas Edison Film Festival celebrates 40 years of great short films and will come to Madison for one evening only with a program of films using a dance motif. Executive Director Jane Steuerwald leads a conversation with filmmakers afterwards. Advance sale tickets are only $15.

Extensions Dance Project on Saturday, May 4, at 3:30 and 7:00
Don’t miss these talented dance students as they present an inspirational program ranging from hip hop and contemporary to jazz and tap.

Jersey Jazz Live with Trombonist Mariel Bildsten on Sunday, May 5, at 3:00
Spend the 11th day enjoying the great jazz of Mariel Bildsten with her talented friends! New Jersey Jazz Society Members are only $10.00.
