Lynette Sheard: Echoes of Bird & Dinah: Vocalist Lynette Sheard and legendary bassist John Lee return to the Back Deck to celebrate the shared August 29th birthdays of jazz icons Charlie Parker and Dinah Washington. Sheard, an award-winning performer featured in the Encyclopedia of Newark Jazz, brings her powerhouse vocals alongside Lee, a Grammy-winning producer, former Dizzy Gillespie bassist, and director of the Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars. Adding a visual element to the performance, acclaimed muralist Monet Sheard will capture the event’s atmosphere live on canvas throughout the show.
