Lincoln’s Whistle-Stop Tour

Lincoln’s Whistle-Stop Tour

Celebrate Presidents’ Day and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday as families trace the route of Lincoln’s famous whistle-stop train tour to Washington, DC, where he took the presidential oath of office and began his presidency. Families will use “travel cards” to learn about significant events during the trip, including the roles that the famous 19th-century American detective Allan Pinkerton and the first American female private eye, Kate Warne, played in protecting the president-elect. Activities recommended for children aged 7-12.
