Experience the intoxicating world of turn-of-the-century Vienna! The concert will feature a delightful mix of Viennese waltzes, polkas, gallops, and much more. These lively pieces will set the stage for the deeply emotional Symphony No. 4 by Gustav Mahler. Soprano Marcelina Román will bring this masterpiece to life with her stunning voice.

About our soloist:
Marcelina Román, a Polish soprano, began her musical journey as a cellist. She later earned her diploma at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. Marcelina’s professional stage debut came with her performance as Violetta in “La Traviata” by G. Verdi, conducted by Andriy Yurkevych. This performance earned her the Jan Kiepura Prize for “Female Debut of the Year”.

Moreover, Marcelina has become a laureate and winner of over 20 international prizes. These include awards from prestigious events like the Eva Marton Voice Competition in Hungary and the Jāzeps Vītols Vocal Competition in Latvia. After her breathtaking success as Armide in J.B. Lully’s opera, she earned the title “Operatic Revelation of the Year”.

In 2021, Marcelina released her solo album “Polish Soul”. This album, recorded with pianist Gilbert den Broeder, features Polish songs and opera arias by Polish composers.
