In June 2024, downtown Morristown will come alive with a rendition of the beloved musical “Godspell.” Pioneer Productions is proudly presenting a fresh take on this timeless classic. Additionally, the production boasts a contemporary twist on the original score by three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz.
First, this dynamic 2012 revival infuses the show with modern flair and dazzling new arrangements, breathing new life into the cherished tale. As a result, the production promises to captivate audiences with its inventive storytelling and infectious energy.
At the heart of “Godspell” lies a small group of individuals who aid Jesus Christ in imparting timeless parables through myriad stories. From pop to vaudeville, the eclectic soundtrack features many iconic tunes.
Luana Cook Scott is also stepping into the spotlight for her Pioneer Productions debut. She is the Senior Pastor of Morristown United Methodist Church, where the show will occur. Furthermore, joining her are a talented ensemble of performers and storytellers. These included Tiffany Bizub, Sean Coyle, Patrick Comey, and more.
Under the guidance of Pioneer co-founder and Artistic Director Dan Vissers, the production team will transform the stage with innovative set design and technical wizardry.
