From Great Estates to Public Gardens at the Mendham Township Library

On Monday, June 3rd, at 1 pm, the Mendham Township Library will host From Great Estates to Public Gardens with Certified Master Gardener Bill Moran.

Who doesn’t love strolling through a beautiful garden? What may be a surprise to many Morris County residents is that within a short driving distance, there are hundreds of public gardens, many once private estates, to do so! Join Certified Master Gardener Bill Moran as he walks us through these local treasures. Attendees will learn about a wide range of gardens they can visit (many for free), from pocket-size gardens to multi-acre arboretums. In addition, attendees will enjoy the images and garden access information Bill will share with them. This program should not be missed!

Bill Moran has been a Certified Master Gardener since 2009. He completed horticultural programs at the County College of Morris and Rutgers University. Bill is currently an active member of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Speakers Group, of which he regularly gives public gardening lectures throughout the area. He is a garden guide at Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Willowood Arboretum, Bamboo Brook, and Greenwood Gardens. A local Ambassador for the Garden Conservancy Open Days program, Bill’s home garden has regularly been a part of the “Open Days” garden tours. In addition, Bill is a Board Member and the treasurer for the Friends of the Willowood Arboretum.

This program will be held in the Brookside Community Church’s Scialla Hall, 8 East Main Street, Brookside, NJ.
