Cuarteto Latinoamericano
Cuarteto Latinoamericano: A Renowned Classical Ensemble
Cuarteto Latinoamericano is one of the world’s most renowned classical music ensembles. For over forty years, it has been the leading proponent of Latin American music for string quartet. Founded in Mexico in 1982, the quartet has toured extensively throughout Europe, North and South America, Israel, China, Japan, and New Zealand. With over a hundred premieres of new works written specifically for them, they continue to introduce new and neglected composers to the genre.
Awards and Accolades
The Cuarteto Latinoamericano has earned numerous accolades, including the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Classical Recordings in 2012 and 2016. They have also received the Mexican Music Critics Association Award and three Chamber Music America/ASCAP “Most Adventurous Programming” Awards.
