Mr. Day was born in New Jersey, 1724. He enlisted in 1775 and served as a as a Private in the Morris County Militia, Quartermaster's Dept. A resident of Chatham, his house remains standing at 24 Kings Road. The house is included in the Morris County Master Plan, Historic Preservation Element, item C4. Mr. Day died in Mendham Township October 30, 1802, and is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Madison.
