Civil War veteran and longtime Denville resident John H. Hall gave an interview to the Rockaway Record on May 26, 1932. During the conversation, Mr. Hall shared stories about his family’s long history in the area. He spoke with pride about his great-grandfather, Captain Josiah Hall, who served bravely during the American Revolution. Captain Hall lived near what is now the Denville Train Station, an area that remained central to the community for generations. Through his memories, John Hall helped preserve the legacy of a family that contributed to both the nation’s founding and its later struggles for unity.
