Pritten Prudden, a resident of Hanover, and his wife, Mehitable, were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Morristown. Mr. Prudden enlisted at Morristown in February 1776, serving as a Private in the New Jersey Line under Captains Jeremiah Ballard, Peter Dickenson, and Elias Dayton. He participated in the battles of Monmouth, Germantown, and Connecticut Farms, serving from 1776 to 1783. After the war, Mr. Prudden relocated to New York, where he worked as a laborer and applied for a pension in Tioga County in 1818. His date of death and burial location remain unknown.
