Craftsman Farms Landscape Tour

The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms in Morris Plains, NJ invites you to tour the grounds of Craftsman Farms, the country estate of Gustav Stickley, nestled “deep in the sunny New Jersey hills.”

Developed in the early 20th century, Craftsman Farms represents the culmination of Stickley’s ideals about simple, practical living, building in harmony with nature, and self-sufficiency. With its orchards, vineyards, vegetable gardens, tea rose garden, wooded hills, wandering brooks, and farm buildings, the estate was designed to be both a working farm and a personal expression of Stickley’s vision for a home.

Led by one of our volunteer docents, this guided outdoor walking tour uses historic photographs to bring the property to life. Visitors explore the landscape, view the exterior of the Log House, and learn about the Stickley family and the daily life, work, and creative vision that shaped Craftsman Farms over a century ago.

PLEASE NOTE: This tour is an exterior tour of the museum grounds. The Log House interior is not included but we welcome you to join us for the 1:00 PM Log House Introductory Tour that immediately follows the Craftsman Farms Landscape Tour.
